The Upper Level Rennovations
The image on the left is the before picture and the image on the right is of course the after picture. I have a brief description of the changes below each set of pictures.
The most obvious change is that the cabinets are now white. I also have a new light, cook top, range hood, sink and crown molding. I switched all of the cabinet hardware to brushed nickle and I installed a door to close off the basement. Although you can't tell from these images, the ceiling was textured but is now smooth. The floor is the same. It just looks yellow in the before image because of the lighting.
The paneling has been painted, a new light is installed, the ceiling is now smooth and there is new crown molding and baseboards.
The main foryer has a new door, new light and new crown molding. The folding doors on the left leading into the living room have been taken down and the parkay floor was pulled up. The hardwood floor under the parkay had to be refinished. The wallpaper from the before image is gone now. Notice the large gaps in the wallpaper around and above the doors. The wallpaper was a floral patten and some of the pieces were upside down.
The upstairs hallway ceiling had new sheetrock put up to cover the attic fan I had disconnected. The door to the attic is new and the crown molding is new. There were four to five layers of wallpaper that had to be removed depending on which section of the hall you were in.
The upstairs hardwoods and the stairs runners had recently been refinished and were in great shape. The stair facings required a tremendous amount of sanding to smooth them out.
These images show the new tile floor, counter top and sink in the bathroom. The tile runners was replaced with floor molding. The bathroom now has a smooth ceiling.
The bathtub and the fixtures were replaced without a second thought. I also had new tile put around the walls for the shower.
The toilet was replaced with one that wasn't cracked and leaking. It's hard to see it in this image but the tile runners on the left and the front right are two different designs in the before picture.
